Oklahoma Representative Nick Archer, a Republican from Elk City, has landed the role of vice chair at The Energy Council, as reported during their latest convocation in the frosty expanses of Anchorage, Alaska. Known for his dedication to energy policy and infrastructure, Archer isn't new to the game, having been involved with The Energy Council since the early days of 2021 and serving on their Executive Committee since the chilly throes of February.
Coming from a state where energy is more than just business—it's a legacy—Archer's appointment as vice chair is a strategic step for The Energy Council, gearing up to elevate him to the chairmanship position for the 2026-2027 tenure. Recently elected during the Council's annual meeting, Archer is set to take on a larger role in shaping the energy dialogue nationally and globally, according to a statement from the Oklahoma House.
"I’m honored to serve as vice chair of The Energy Council," Archer said, underscoring his intention to leverage Oklahoma's energy leadership to fuel the Council's agenda. "Oklahoma has long been a leader in powering our nation, and energy remains a top industry in our state. I look forward to working with colleagues from across the country and beyond to promote an energy infrastructure that strengthens our economy, ensures reliability and secures America’s energy future," Archer elucidated in a statement obtained by the Oklahoma House.
Beyond his latest accolade, Archer has been nurturing his political and energetic roots for quite some time, having represented House District 55 since 2022. Before taking on his legislative duties, he served as mayor of Elk City, simultaneously securing a grip on the local energy dynamic and the civic pulse.
