The Pasadena Police Department is asking for help to identify a man involved in a groping incident at Holly Bay Park on August 14 at around 7:20 p.m. A female jogger reported that she was groped by the suspect. Authorities describe him as a Hispanic male, about 5'8" tall, possibly in his 20s, wearing a white tank top and black jogging pants. The suspect fled the scene immediately after the incident, according to FOX 26 Houston.
The Pasadena Police Department held a press conference to speed up the identification of a suspect. Assistant Chief Raul Granados said, "No one has come forward yet," and urged anyone with surveillance footage from the day of the incident to contact authorities, as reported by Click2Houston. Police advised park-goers to visit with someone after dark and, if possible, during daylight hours. A photo of the suspect has been released, and the department stated they believe the incident is isolated and not linked to other recent park incidents in Houston.
Local women are taking safety precautions after recent park incidents, carrying items like whistles, tasers, and defense-equipped vests. Janet Pina said, "I wear a running vest and I have like pepper spray or a pocket knife and then I have family members that have my location," as mentioned by Click2Houston. Police say this incident is not related to other assaults in the greater Houston area. The Pasadena Police Department asks anyone with information about a suspect to contact Detective I. Mascorro at 713-475-4978 or [email protected].
