
In Petaluma, a man, identified by authorities as Todd Simone, 58, of Petaluma, engaged in a menacing confrontation involving a machete. According to the Petaluma Police Department, their dispatch center received calls yesterday regarding Simone, who was reportedly seen throwing trash into the Petaluma River and brandishing a weapon when confronted.
An officer arrived posthaste and located Simone, who matched the description provided by callers. Initially uncooperative, Simone attempted to leave the scene, but ultimately complied with the officer and was apprehended without further complications. Further investigation led to the revelation of the weapon in question- a machete, which Simone had used to threaten a fellow community member during the dispute.
The incident concluded with Simone's arrest and subsequent booking into the Sonoma County Jail. The charges leveled against him include "422 PC (Criminal Threats), 417 PC (Brandishing of a Deadly Weapon), and 148 PC (Resisting/Obstructing an Officer)," as reported by the Petaluma Police Department.
