Residents of Platte City looking to quickly renew their vehicle registrations or to apply for Missouri driver's licenses will soon have to adjust their plans. The Missouri Department of Revenue has announced a change in location and management for the Platte City License Office. The current office set to close its doors on Branch St next Wednesday is scheduled to make a move over to Platt Falls Rd, where it will open the following Monday.

The new address for all things licensure will be 1303 Platt Falls Rd with operations commencing from September 15. According to the Missouri DOR's release, regular business hours will continue to be from 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday. For those needing to immediately to access services during the brief closure period, the DOR has suggested visiting nearby offices in Parkville, Liberty, or Gladstone.

For the locals in need of an alternative, the Parkville License Office at 6400 N. Cosby Ave., the Liberty License Office at 1780 Church Rd., and the Gladstone License Office at 5943 N. Antioch Rd. stand ready to assist. To make life a bit easier during this transition, the DOR also points consumers towards an array of online services, including phone-in registration for vehicle and watercraft and inquiries on license plate renewals.

The move comes as the result of a successful bid by Paul J Wrabec Co., Inc., a company now stepping into helm the office's new iteration. In what's described as a competitive bid process, all Missouri license office contracts are routinely put up for grabs to ensure a fair chance is had by potential operators. The DOR oversees these offices, maintaining a list of locations and hours on their website, which also features online tools such like the DORA Chatbot to instantly get answers to common questions.
