The Plymouth Police Department is opening its arms to two fresh faces in blue, Officers Lexi Affsa and Callahan Gibbs, recently out of the police academy and ready to pound the pavement. Announced in a post on the department's Facebook page, the two completed a rigorous 800-hour training regimen and are now gearing up to navigate the streets of Plymouth.
It's more than just a graduation; it's the prelude to a vital on-the-job training phase where Affsa and Gibbs will ride along with seasoned Field Training Officers for 14 weeks, getting hands-on with the nuts and bolts and ins and outs of day-to-day policing. The new officers will chart a course through the learning curves of real-world enforcement.
Embracing a spirit of service that is fundamental to their freshly donned badges, the duo is stepping into a world more than a career, but a lifelong commitment that the Plymouth Police Department doesn’t take lightly. "We're proud to welcome these officers to the Plymouth Police Department and the privilege of serving such an incredible community." Officer Affsa and Officer Gibbs, if their training is any indication, are not just ready, they're hungry for the opportunity to make a difference, to be a force for good.
With every fresh batch of rookies, there comes a renewal of vows to the community, a pledge softly echoed in the Department's assurance, saying, "The journey ahead is demanding, but we're confident they're up to the challenge." Plymouth residents can look to these officers not just for enforcement but for engagement—after all, it's the people behind the badge that forge the trust necessary to keep a town like Plymouth safe and secure.
