On Saturday, mostly sunny skies are forecast with highs near 93 degrees. A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms is expected Saturday night with possible precipitation amounts between a quarter and half an inch.
From Sunday through Thursday, the forecast calls for a mix of slight chances for showers and sunny days, with temperatures in the upper 70s to lower 80s. Sunday may reach a high near 79 degrees with thunderstorms possible in the afternoon. Lows around 61 degrees are expected Sunday night. Monday is forecast to be sunny, with mostly sunny conditions continuing through Thursday.
The Hazardous Weather Outlook notes a Marginal Risk (level 1 of 5) for severe storms over north-central North Carolina on Saturday. The primary threat is damaging wind gusts over 60 mph. Spotter activation may be required.
