The Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination (MCAD) has officially named Randall Lui as the new Chief of Operations and Finance. Effective immediately, Lui will oversee the Commission's budget and fiscal operations, procurement, and daily office management, according to an announcement made by MCAD. With an extensive history in financial management within Massachusetts government agencies, Lui promises to bolster MCAD's fiscal health and efficiency at a crucial juncture in its service.
Lui's background is robust, featuring a role as Chief Financial Officer for the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) since 2023, and previously, a decade of experience with the Massachusetts Office for Victim Assistance (MOVA). The roles prior, which included a Budget Analyst position and Federal Revenue Manager among others, provide Lui with substantial knowledge to effectively manage financial strategy and operations for the MCAD. According to a statement obtained by Mass.gov, Executive Director Michael Memmolo expressed confidence in Lui's capabilities saying, "Randall’s expertise in financial management and his commitment to public service make him an invaluable addition to our leadership team."
This appointment arrives alongside the MCAD's announcement of its new case management system, set to launch later this year. The system aims to improve the Commission's service delivery and operational fortitude. With his financial expertise, Lui is expected to play a key role in the implementation and supervision of this update.
Lui's leadership is particularly pivotal as it aligns with the Commission's 80th-anniversary celebrations and its efforts to intensify resources available to the public. "He joins us at a pivotal moment," Memmolo told the public, "as the Commission enters its 80th year of service to the Commonwealth and revitalizes its resources to the public, we look forward to his guidance in helping the MCAD expand its impact across Massachusetts." With Lui at the financial helm, the MCAD appears ready to progress its mission of advancing equity and justice throughout the Commonwealth.
