Sacramento's creative minds have a new reason to get excited. The "EveryDay Creative" program, a six-week endeavor aimed at fostering the growth of local creative businesses, is now open for applications. As reported by the Sacramento City Express, this initiative is especially targeted at early-stage creative entrepreneurs, offering them a chance to hone their business fundamentals with the help of experienced mentors.

Funded through the City’s Office of Arts and Culture by federal American Rescue Plan dollars, the program seeks out diverse business owners, prioritizing assistance to people of color, individuals with disabilities, veterans, and those coming from low-to-moderate-wealth communities. According the Sacramento City Express, the executive director of CLTRE, Roshaun Davis said, "Collaborations like this create pathways for Sacramento’s creative community and provide meaningful support for all entrepreneurs."

The six-week course serves various creative disciplines within the Sacramento city limits. Eligible applicants span a spectrum of industries, including but not limited to animators, architects, game developers, and musicians. The program's offerings are robust, featuring mentorship from industry insiders, networking opportunities ripe with potential collaborators and investors, and specialized support that equips fledgling businesses with the necessary resources and tools to succeed.

Those interested in the six-week program must submit their applications by September 15. Kicking off with an in-person event scheduled for October 16–17, the program will run until November 21. The program charges a nominal fee of $95 per person, however, a recommendation letter from a community leader can be used to seek exemption from this fee, providing an opportunity for those unable to afford the cost to still participate. As stated by the Sacramento City Express, future iterations of the program, slated for a 2026 launch, will include personalized coaching and a comprehensive 12-week accelerator designed for entrepreneurs looking to take their businesses to the next level.

Sacramento's EveryDay Creative program, now in its application phase, is more than just a series of workshops. It's a multifaceted platform where mentorship meets networking, and valuable training coalesces into an ecosystem crafted to transition creative projects into sustainable, full-time careers.
