Sally's Apizza, a Connecticut institution known for its New Haven-style pizza, is launching its second Massachusetts location in Dorchester's growing food scene. Slated to open its doors tomorrow, the new spot at 9 District Ave. is expected to draw both pizza aficionados and newcomers alike, keen to get a taste of Sally's signature pies and Italian fare.

With a reputation that precedes it, Sally's has been crafting pies with a "distinctive" tomato sauce and a perfectly chewy, crispy crust since 1938. The chain's commitment to quality has not gone unnoticed, with their pizzas heralded as some of the best in America by USA Today. In addition to their famed pizzas, the restaurant will serve up various classic Italian entrees and an array of appetizers, including skillet meatballs, Italian wings, and arancini. According to WCVB, the menu also boasts sandwiches, salads, bruschetta, and desserts.

After success in its home state and solidifying its presence with the first Massachusetts location in Woburn in 2023, the Dorchester opening marks the latest phase in Sally's Apizza's expansion plans. The establishment is renowned not only for its pizza, but for the experience of the charred, coal-fired crust that's become a hallmark of their brand.

Reservations for the grand opening tomorrow night are recommended, though walk-ins will be welcomed to participate in what's expected to be a vibrant showcase of Sally's culinary offerings. Joining the festivities at the Dorchester outpost, guests will have the opportunity to sample a variety of coal-fired Neapolitan pizzas. The chain also has plans for additional Massachusetts locations in Boston’s Seaport and Concord, as well as further expansion within Connecticut, according to a statement obtained by Boston 25 News.
