Fontana deputies on Wednesday found themselves in a high-speed pursuit when two young men decided to test the limits of both dirt bikes and the law on Euclid Avenue, Upland. Deputies spotting the two off-highway motorcycles sans license plates attempted to initiate a traffic stop. Their riders, identified as Joshua Molina and Gavin Injijian, both 18-year-old residents of San Antonio Heights, had other plans, as reported by the SBSD Fontana Sheriff's Department.
A pursuit ensued as Molina and Injijian sped through neighborhoods, running stop signs and ignoring traffic laws. Their route stretched from Euclid Avenue to San Antonio Avenue before deputies lost sight of them when they drove against traffic and vanished into a suburban area, as per the SBSD Fontana Sheriff's Department.
The aftermath saw the suspects nabbed at their respective Upland residences thanks to diligent investigative work—Molina at a house on 23rd Street, Injijian, a few blocks over on E 20th Street. According to a sheriff's department statement, the young men were booked on charges of CVC 2800.2 - Felony Evading and are now guests at West Valley Detention Center.
Deputies across multiple stations report a rise in unregistered dirt bikes illegally operated on public roads. San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner Shannon D. Dicus reminds the public that such vehicles are not toys, and violations can result in fines, impounds, or jail time. The Sheriff's Department urges residents to report this activity to local law enforcement. Anyone with information about this case is asked to contact the Fontana Sheriff’s Station at (909) 365-6767.
