The Texas Department of Public Safety has elevated the manhunt urgency by naming John Lynch Goodwin, a 65-year-old San Antonio resident, to their Texas 10 Most Wanted Sex Offenders List, both FOX San Antonio and KSAT reported.
With a history of convictions that include two counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child for a six-year-old girl and a 14-year-old girl resulting in a 20-year sentence Goodwin has been at large from Bexar County since March 2025 after not adhering to the conditions of his sex offender registration, furthermore the Edinburg Police Department also put out a warrant for his arrest in October 2024 on the grounds of unlawful possession of synthetic marijuana.
Goodwin, who was released from a Texas Department of Criminal Justice facility in April 2024, is described as standing 5 feet 7 inches tall, and his distinguishable tattoos cover his face, cheek, back, arms, left finger, right thigh, and chest; sources claim he has known connections to San Antonio as well as Edinburg.
The Texas Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to Goodwin's arrest Texans who may hold clues to his whereabouts are being urged to come forward, they can share information by calling the Crime Stoppers hotline, submitting a tip through the DPS website by selecting Goodwin’s name and clicking on the link under his picture or via a Facebook tip by following the "Submit a Tip" link that can be found under the "About" section of their page, and it's been assured that the tipsters' identities will be kept confidential.
