Authorities in Marin County have cracked down on a home in San Rafael tied to narcotic sales, resulting in three arrests and the seizure of drugs and a ghost gun, the Marin County Sheriff's Office revealed in a statement on social media. In a detailed post found on Facebook, it was reported that detectives from the Marin County Specialized Investigative Unit (SIU), via ongoing surveillance, identified suspicious activity indicative of drug trafficking at a residence located on Lisbon Street.

The covert operation unfolded over several weeks, after which detectives obtained a search warrant for the property and its occupants. Last Thursday, SIU detectives, together with the San Rafael Police Department, carried out the warrant and discovered around 2 ounces of what they suspected was methamphetamine ready for sale and an unserialized 9mm pistol, the type often referred to as a ghost gun because it lacks traceable serial numbers.

During the raid on Lisbon Street, SIU detained three individuals: 43-year-old Walter Alvarado-Samayoa, 42-year-old Victor Jiminez-Cuervo, and 42-year-old Remedios Santamaria. Alvarado-Samayoa and Jiminez-Cuervo were charged with possession of a controlled substance for sale, and Santamaria faces charges for possession of a controlled substance and illegal possession of a firearm. According to the Marin County Sheriff's Office, Santamaria was also served with two outstanding Marin County arrest warrants.

The sheriff's office underscored the importance of collaboration in this sting with the statement, "The Marin County Specialized Investigative Unit is a multi-agency task force compromised of Detectives from law enforcement agencies throughout Marin County."
