A fatal hit-and-run occurred in Panorama City late Sunday night, where a man in his 30s was struck while riding his scooter and was reported dead at the scene. According to KTLA, the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) received calls at 9:37 p.m. about the collision at the intersection of Strathern Street and Woodman Avenue.
The LAPD has stated that "Both the vehicle and the scooter were traveling northbound on Woodman when the driver struck the person on the scooter, fleeing the scene without rendering medical aid." This incident led to the deployment of the L.A. Fire Department paramedics who pronounced the man dead at the site of the collision. The victim's belongings, including a backpack, were discovered near a white tent that stood as a somber marker of the tragedy. CBS Los Angeles reports showed the officers conducting a meticulous search in the area.
In a correction to the initial reporting time, the LAPD's official statement clarified that the precise time of the incident was September 28, 2025, around 9:35 p.m., not the 29th as previously mentioned. Further details revealed a gray Honda Sedan as the first colliding vehicle, which led to the rider's ejection. A second vehicle was also involved in the subsequent collision, but the driver is cooperating with the investigation. The identity of the victim, described as a male Hispanic in his early 30s, is being withheld pending notification of next of kin by the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office.
