
Seattle Parks and Recreation will expand A.B. Ernst Park and is inviting the public to an Open House on September 30. The event will be held at the park, west of the Fremont Branch Library, where attendees can meet the design team and learn about the expansion plans, according to the Seattle Parks and Recreation.
Seattle’s park redevelopment is set to begin in early 2026, supported by funding from the Seattle Park District. After delays during the pandemic, the district redirected funds back to park projects in its second funding cycle, as reported by the Seattle Parks and Recreation.
Seattle Parks and Recreation has released updated design plans for a park that meet tree and stormwater requirements while staying within budget. Residents can view the digital plans on the city’s website. Construction is planned to start early next year, and the project has included community meetings and online plan presentations.
