Seattle residents can look forward to mostly sunny skies and a high near 81 degrees today. The calm winds of the morning are expected to pick up slightly, shifting to the north at around 6 mph in the afternoon. However, hinting at a shift, the weather outlook for tonight remains mostly clear with temperatures dipping to a low around 62 degrees, as reported by the National Weather Service.
In line with the usual weather trends of this time of year, Friday also promises to extend the brief respite, with the temperature forecasted to reach a high near 82. It's worth noting, even though the wind will remain calm, it will become northwest around 5 mph in the afternoon, which should give the feel of a perfect end-of-summer day.
But as the week draws to a close, changes are looming on the horizon. Starting Friday night, there's a 20 percent chance of showers after 11 pm. The skies will be partly cloudy with a low around 63 degrees. Into the weekend, the National Weather Service anticipates a 30 percent chance of precipitation on Saturday, when showers and the potential for thunderstorms after 5 pm start to introduce variability to our weather pattern. A mostly cloudy high near 77 is on tap with a south southwest wind flowing at 3 to 6 mph.
Higher chances for inclement weather are expected by Sunday, with a 40 percent chance of showers and mostly cloudy skies. The mercury is set to drop slightly, with a high nearing 73. Sunday night there appears to be a chance of more showers with a low around 60. As Monday arrives, so does a continual chance of showers with cloudy conditions and a high approaching 71 degrees.
Looking ahead to the early part of next week, the forecast calls for showers likely from Monday night through Wednesday. Nighttime lows will hover around 61 degrees, while daytime highs will reach up to about 71 degrees, accompanied by mostly cloudy skies.
