St. Charles County is bringing civic engagement to the classroom with a patriotic flare. Middle school students are being given the opportunity to design the next "I Voted" sticker for the 2026 elections, coinciding with America's 250th birthday. The challenge is set for 6th to 8th graders to showcase their creativity and pride in their country. "This is a fun way to engage future voters by designing something unique to our community for Election Day," Director of Elections Kurt Bahr stated, emphasizing the special connection to the nation's 250th anniversary, as reported by St. Charles County's official website.

Entries must incorporate the phrase "I Voted" and celebrate the nation's milestone birthday, with submissions due by November 21. Unlike some other contests, digital doodles need not apply here — we're talking traditional mediums only, pencils and markers at the ready. Schools can participate as a collective activity, but individual families aren't left out; they can submit their young Picasso's piece too. The Election Authority office is the drop-off point for this ride-or-die patriotism display.

Starting in January, finalists’ designs will be available for public viewing and voting. The winning student artist will have their design printed on “I Voted” stickers for the 2026 election in St. Charles County, which could be distributed to more than 300,000 voters. Contest rules require designs to remain clear and easy to read even when reduced to sticker size. Submissions must be original, with no photos or tracing allowed.

The full list of rules and the entry form are available on the St. Charles County Election Authority’s website. The winning design will be produced and distributed during the 2026 election.
