The National Weather Service in St. Louis is forecasting a damp and stormy week ahead for residents of eastern and central Missouri as well as west central and southwest Illinois, where scattered thunderstorms are expected to roll in late this afternoon and persist well into the night.
The week's outlook doesn't promise much respite with a chance of thunderstorms looming each day from Monday through Thursday, now while the humidity sits uncomfortably at 87%, temperatures are expected to hover around the upper 60s to low 80s throughout this turbulent period, but don't let the weather dampen your spirits because it's not all bad news, the temperatures will remain relatively warm and the sun is expected to make an appearance by Saturday, according to the NWS latest weather update.
The NWS has not issued any spotter activation requests as of now, but keep an eye on updates as the week's weather unfolds, especially those planning outdoor activities might want to seek alternative plans or prepare for possible disruptions given the 80% chance of precipitation forecasted for both Monday and Monday night bringing showers and possibly a thunderstorm.
Tuesday’s temperature will reach around 80 degrees with mostly cloudy skies and a 50% chance of showers and storms after 1 p.m. If you’re heading out for lunch, bring an umbrella—or wait until the weekend, when the weather clears up. By Saturday, it will be sunny with a high near 79.
