St. Louis residents may want to keep their light jackets handy in the morning hours but be prepared to shed layers as the day progresses. According to the National Weather Service, the city welcomed an overcast sky with a temperature of 55°F early today, but the clouds are set to give way to sun. The day's forecast heralds partly sunny skies with a calm wind shifting southeast and an expected high near 82 degrees.
As the evening wanes, the temperature in the St. Louis area will dip to around 60 degrees under partly cloudy skies, with only a whisper of southeast wind. The serene weather seems to be an ongoing theme as Wednesday promises sunshine and a significant temperature climb, with the mercury soaring close to 90 degrees and what appears to be, a mild southwest breeze will gently brush the afternoon, though this brief respite in wind offers little reprieve from the ascending heat.
The NWS anticipates the night to remain mostly clear with the low settling around 64 and residing under the gentle touch of the southeast wind. And from the look of it, there's little change in the sunny streak through the end of the week; Thursday's skies will be basking in sun with a high cresting near 92 degrees, and as if following an unwritten rule of consistency, calm winds are expected to introduce a slight northeastern shift in the afternoon.
Continuing the trend, St. Louis nights will remain mostly clear with lows gradually increasing—from around 66 on Thursday night to the cusp of the seventies by Saturday night, the city seems to be almost methodically climbing up a thermal ladder as Friday and Saturday daytime highs push the mid-'90s, indeed it is a slow simmer to Sunday which also maintains that mostly sunny demeanor and a peak near 96 degrees.
However, by the time Sunday night rolls around, there's a slight chance of showers as clouds part only partially, with a low hovering around 70. Monday follows suit with a similar forecast—a blend of sun and a marginal chance of rain, culminating in a high near 92 degrees.
