Authorities in Santa Monica have reported an update in the case of a stabbing incident that occurred on August 31 near Ocean Front Walk. According to a Facebook post by the Santa Monica Police Department, the suspect was apprehended last Wednesday evening after being recognized by patrol officers.

The incident in question took place at approximately 4:58 p.m. alongside the pedestrian staircase at 1615 Ocean Front Walk, culminating in a male victim sustaining non-life-threatening stab wounds, as reported by the Santa Monica Police Department. The suspect involved in the assault, identified as Malvin Walker, attacked the victim multiple times before fleeing the scene on foot.

Walker has been charged with attempted murder under California Penal Code 664/187, along with felony vandalism and an outstanding $51,000 warrant for battery.  Walker remains in custody as investigators work to determine the motive and circumstances of the stabbing.
