
A northeast Las Vegas valley intersection was temporarily shut down last night after a crash involving a suspected impaired driver, according to Metro police. 8NewsNow reports that the incident took place at the crossroads of Nellis and Lake Mead Boulevard. A driver, who police suspect was under the influence, rear-ended one vehicle before veering to strike another, the police said.
The aftermath of the collision resulted in two of the drivers being transported to a local hospital with injuries that were deemed not life-threatening. While impairment is believed to quickly have been a contributing factor, officers at the scene have yet to officially confirm the cause behind the collision. The Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada confirmed that the intersection was closed in all directions following the crash, and it later reopened around 9:15 p.m.
