
Tulsa is preparing for the 8th Annual 918 Day on Thursday next week. Citizens and businesses are organizing events and activities, including special discounts. Established in 2018, the event highlights Tulsa’s development and the people and places that shape the city. This year’s theme is “Tulsa in Motion,” according to the City of Tulsa.
Mayor Nichols will participate in “Monroe On The Go,” a tour covering nine schools and eight local businesses. He will document the tour on his social media accounts, including Facebook and Instagram at @MonroeForTulsa, as per the City of Tulsa release.
The 918 Day Passport Challenge will take place on Saturday next weekfrom 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Participants can pick up a Passport Card at one of the Core Destination District Stops or download a digital version. Collecting stamps at designated districts enters participants into the 918 Day Giveaway. Wearing Tulsa-themed clothing is encouraged.
Main Street in Kendall Whittier, Riverbend Arts District, Studio Row, Tulsa Market District, Pearl District, Meadow Gold District, Tulsa Route 66 Main Street, and Phoenix District will offer stamps. Bonus stops at Tulsa Global District and Historic Greenwood District are also available. Participants can snap a selfie as instructed and present it at the final stop at the Handmade Market in Veteran’s Park to receive the last stamp and submit passports for entry into the giveaway.
Local businesses will offer deals connected to 918 Day. While no official list exists, residents are encouraged to check with businesses for details.
