The Washington County Public Health and Environmental Department has a solution that's both eco-friendly and wallet-friendly. They are rolling out a Halloween Costume Swap event this year, aiming to breathe new life into pre-loved spooky ensembles.
Open to the public, the swap is welcoming costume donations starting now and will continue to do so through October 11. Residents can drop off their clean, gently used children's costumes at two locations: South Environmental Center and North Environmental Center. They are making it as easy as possible.
The details were posted on the county's website, which clarifies the drop-off points: South Environmental Center sits at 4039 Cottage Grove Drive, Woodbury, MN 55129, and North Environmental Center is located at 6065 Headwaters Parkway, Forest Lake, MN 55025. Both sites will have a Free Product Room open during operating hours for this purpose.
Local parents have a few weeks to declutter those closets and help fellow community members get their hands on a ready-to-go costume. By contributing to the swap, they can avoid the last-minute store dash (and inevitable wallet gouging) that comes with the territory of October's spooky festivities.
