A Webster man was arrested on multiple charges after a struggle with police officers that left two with injuries. In the early hours of last Sunday, Oscar Ucher, 34, was pulled over after running a red light but exited his vehicle and attempted to enter an apartment building before the altercation ensued, reported the Webster Police Department via a social media post.

Initially attempting to conduct a routine stop, Officer Bryan Blomgren ordered Ucher back into his car and demanded identification. The situation escalated as Ucher ignored the commands and violently resisted arrest. Struggling into the apartment, where Blomgren was assaulted and received a broken finger, as reported by Webster Police's post. It was in this furnace of a conflict, with doors slamming and isolation sought by aggressors, the narrative played out leading to the injury of two officers.

Backup Officer Alex Johnson, arriving on the scene, found it difficult to locate his colleague upon entering due to the scuffle and intentionally closed doors. In the fray, Ucher was accused of reaching towards his waistband and continued to struggle despite the use of Taser and defensive strikes by Johnson, who sustained minor injuries during the incident.

With the support from Dudley Police Officers Lara and Forcier, order was restored, and Ucher was successfully apprehended after what can be described as a tumultuous series of events. The Webster Police's account detailed the charges, including two counts of "Assault and Battery on a Police Officer" and one count of "Aggravated A&B on a Police Officer Causing Serious Bodily Injury" amongst others, as Ucher was processed and eventually arraigned in Dudley District Court. After posted his $2,000 cash bail on the condition, Ucher was released, bearing the presumption of innocence until proven guilty as the judicial process conveys.
