The West Coast Health Alliance has released its vaccine guidance for the upcoming respiratory virus season, focusing on COVID-19, influenza, and RSV. The announcement encourages everyone 6 months and older to receive the updated COVID-19 and flu vaccines, with additional RSV recommendations for young children and pregnant individuals, according to the Washington State Department of Health.

The Washington State Department of Health is urging everyone 6 months and older to get updated COVID-19, flu, and RSV vaccines, following the September 4 mandate. State Health Officer Dr. Tao Sheng Kwan-Gett said, "Vaccines are the best protection we have against serious illness due to COVID-19, flu, and RSV, and they can also help reduce spread and ease pressure on our health care system." The vaccines are covered by insurance and Medicaid, offered free for children under 19, and available at reduced cost for adults. They can also be given at the same time.

The West Coast Health Alliance, formed by Washington, California, Oregon, and Hawaii, is working to coordinate health policies and use the latest science to guide decisions. Governor Bob Ferguson said, "Science matters. We will ensure our policies are based on rigorous science. We stand united with our partner states and medical experts to put public health and safety before politics. I will continue to do everything in my power to protect Washingtonians." Information on vaccinations is available on the Washington State Department of Health website, through healthcare providers, and on DOH social media.
