The White Settlement Fire Department has rolled out a major update to its emergency response capabilities, officially putting a new Rescue 18 vehicle into service last month. The modern apparatus stepped in to continue the legacy of the previous Rescue 18, which, according to a social media post from the department, was retired after responding to 14,628 calls since February 28, 2019.
While the previous Rescue 18 unit has served from 2019 through August 21, 2025, it was a beacon of reliability, carrying firefighters to various scenes – from medical emergencies to motor vehicle accidents, and fires. In a statement published on their Facebook page, the White Settlement Fire Department noted, "It carried our firefighters to medical emergencies, motor vehicle accidents, and fires throughout our response district, faithfully serving our community every day."
The new Rescue 18 that was launched into service on August 24, 2025, is expected to uphold the same dedication as its predecessor. The White Settlement Fire Department has expressed confidence that the new unit is equipped to "respond quickly and provide the necessary resources to protect lives and property," a commitment that resonates with the community's trust in their first responders.
