
Jayden Scurlock, a senior at Sam Houston High School and a standout on the football field, has just been named the City of Arlington's Student-Athlete of the Month for October 2025. As a leader and a captain of the Texans, Scurlock earned himself a spot on the 2nd Team All-District during his junior year, and it's no wonder; the dedication is palpable, Chris James, Sam Houston High School's Head Football Coach, highlighted Scurlock's exceptional work ethic, he's "the first on in the building and the last one to leave" during an interview shared by the City of Arlington.
This disciplined senior isn't solely focused on sports, though; post-graduation, Scurlock plans to attend Texas Christian University, aiming to major in Environmental Science, an ambition that showcases his ability to look beyond the immediate horizon of high school sports to the wider field of global concerns.
