In an effort to aggressively curb retail theft within its jurisdiction, the Bensalem Township Police Department has joined forces with the Bensalem Township Economic Development Corporation and local merchants to initiate an operation dubbed "Bensalem Secure." This scheme is set to take on a multifaceted approach aimed at curtailing the incidents of theft that have been plaguing area businesses, according to the Bensalem Police social media post.
The campaign's strategy includes publicizing a weekly roster of individuals apprehended on charges related to retail theft. With an intent to fully deter potential offenders, the department has said it will "have zero tolerance for retail thefts and will arrest anyone detained or identified as committing these crimes," as noted on their official social media page.
Acknowledging the rights of the accused, the Bensalem Police has also reminded the public that all listed individuals are presumed innocent until conclusively proven guilty in a court of law.
