Fire emergencies rattled two Milwaukee area communities in the early hours of Monday, Oct. 6, when blazes damaged a local restaurant and a residential home, with authorities responding to each distressing scene. WISN reported that Hale House Restaurant in Hales Corners became engulfed in flames around 3:41 a.m. Fortunately, no injuries were reported as the restaurant was closed and no one was present inside. Though the fire was managed and extinguished by 4:06 a.m., the cause remains a mystery, with fire investigators speculating it likely started in a towel bin outside the establishment, according to fire officials.

Simultaneously, while the restaurant kitchen suffered the most damage, people passing by Hale House were the ones who spotted the blaze and promptly alerted police. Response teams from five other agencies pitched in to douse the flames. Part of Forest Home Avenue had to be sealed off during the intervention, causing early-morning traffic diversions until the situation was cleared before 6 a.m., as noted by firefighters on scene in a statement obtained by WISN.

Meanwhile, over in Milwaukee, a fire inflicted severe damage to a house near 21st and Concordia, reported by CBS 58, which was rendered uninhabitable post-incident. The Milwaukee Fire Department was dispatched to the household after receiving a report of a fire at 9:24 a.m., with flames voraciously spreading through every floor of the two-and-a-half-story home.

The situation was exacerbated when a firefighter was sent to the hospital due to non-life-threatening injuries sustained during the response effort. Initial concerns that an adult and several children might have been trapped inside were thankfully nullified as no one was home at the time of the fire, and the adult resident confirmed the safety of all occupants later at the scene. Given the extensive damage, extra units were called to manage the fire, as shared by firefighters, according to CBS 58. The cause continues to be under investigation by the Milwaukee Fire Department’s Fire Investigation Unit, further detailed by FOX 6.
