The city of Boston is gearing up for a week filled with weather uncertainties as a developing storm system to the south might influence the festive mood of Halloween—this according to NBC10 Boston. Residents can enjoy a mostly sunny Saturday with tops in the mid 50s, but as of now, scattered rain is anticipated throughout the upcoming week, with opportunities for precipitation peaking around mid to late week.
The inconsistency among forecast models poses a challenge to meteorologists, leaving the city waiting for a clearer picture of the Halloween day weather—some predict rain and wind from Wednesday through to Friday, clearing by Saturday while another model keeps the system completely offshore allowing for a dry Halloween, meanwhile, today’s forecast from the National Weather Service predicts a high near 57 with a light northwest wind and a cloudy low at 39 tonight.
For the sports fans, tomorrow's weather is poised to be accommodating for the Patriots-Browns game happening at Gillette Stadium, with partly sunny skies and brisk temperatures climbing into the low 50s, a couple of showers might slip into coastal areas late tomorrow night, but nothing too disruptive. As for the rest of the week, high temperatures will hover in the low to mid 50s complemented by a fair mix of cloud cover and sun.
On a broader scope, the tropics are currently active with Melissa set to become a major hurricane—affecting areas in the Caribbean with severe flash flooding but the storm’s trajectory does not immediately threaten the U.S, subsequently should Bostonians encounter a windy and wet Halloween, it won't be due to Melissa, which is brewing considerably farther south, but to the less predictable system that local forecasters are vigilantly monitoring.
