The National Weather Service reports a 20% chance of showers by Wednesday night in Boston, with cloudy skies and increased chances of precipitation expected through Halloween on Thursday.
A coastal storm is expected to move up the East Coast by the end of the week, potentially impacting Halloween weather. According to NBC10 Boston, weather models are currently divided, with some showing heavy rain and gusty winds, and others indicating breezy conditions with minimal or no rain.
Scattered showers are possible starting Tuesday, increasing through Halloween, along with wind gusts, particularly near coastal areas. Forecast models differ on both the timing and trajectory of the expected storm, which will affect the amount of rain and wind in Boston.
Weekend weather is forecast to include partly cloudy skies with a chance of a stray shower on Friday, and a mix of sun and clouds on Saturday and Sunday. Daytime highs are expected in the low to mid-50s, with morning lows in the 30s. Tropical storm Melissa is expected to strengthen into a hurricane but will not affect the U.S. mainland, remaining over parts of the Caribbean, as per the NWS.
At this time, Bostonians are advised to prepare for possible inclement weather on Halloween. Forecasts for October 31 remain uncertain, and NBC10 Boston will continue to monitor the storm and provide updates on conditions as they develop.
