The Ceres Police Department announced a noticeable spike in law enforcement activity today around Central Valley High School, but residents should not be concerned, as it's all part of a training program for officers. On its social media channel, the department informed the public that the police presence and noise is related to an exercise geared toward keeping their response teams sharp and prepared for any real-life emergencies that might arise.
In a social media post, the department stated, "Today 10/18/25, the Ceres Police Department will be conducting training exercises at Central Valley High School." It was clear to community members that they might "see a large police presence or hear activity in the area - please don’t be alarmed." The post further clarified that these operations are critical in making sure that officers remain vigilant and ready for actual threat scenarios, emphasizing that the school is not under any active threat or emergency.
The police also thanked the residents for their understanding and support, knowing that such exercises, while necessary, can be disconcerting for anyone who happens across them unawares. "Thank you for your understanding and support," their message continued, as noted by the department's post.
