
A Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools (CMS) employee has been arrested for an assault involving a deadly weapon. Authorities identified the suspect as 44-year-old Chandraprabha Singh, who was taken into custody on Sunday last week. Singh is charged with Assault with a Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD).
CMPD’s Domestic Violence Unit detectives made the arrest and brought Singh to the Law Enforcement Center for questioning before transferring her to the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office. The incident occurred off school grounds and did not involve students or staff.
CMS has not released a statement regarding Singh’s employment status. The investigation remains active under Detective Roberts of CMPD’s Domestic Violence Unit.
