The ongoing trial of Bionca Ellis, accused of a brutal attack that killed 3-year-old Julian Wood and injured his mother, has entered its third day. Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas Judge John Russo has made the decision to withhold witness testimony from public viewing until after closing arguments, as noted in an update by Cleveland19. Ellis has entered a plea of not guilty by reason of insanity, facing multiple charges, including one count of aggravated murder.
Amidst the proceedings, the victim's mother, Margot Wood, delivered a harrowing account of the day her son was killed. "So I saw her walking toward us and I noticed she had a knife in her hand and I said 'oh no, Julian,'" she said in a statement obtained by FOX8. Wood further detailed that after Ellis stabbed them, she "just walked away, like nothing." The chilling testimony underscores the random nature of the attack that took place in a store parking lot in June 2024.
The trial has also included videos and 911 calls, according to WKYC. These recordings are presumably crucial pieces of evidence, detailing the events leading up to and following the attack. Witnesses have described Ellis as 'nonchalant' in the wake of the tragedy, with additional reports of her behavior and movements prior to the stabbing being analyzed.

A particular frame of footage showcased Ellis in a thrift store, where she is seen picking up knives from the housewares aisle and exiting without payment, as reported by a store manager.
