As the crisp autumn wind ushers in the season of political engagement, Colorado brings forth its ritual of democracy with the beginning of its mail-in ballot distribution for the 2025 Coordinated Election. Starting today, active voters throughout the state can expect to find their ballots arriving in the mail, as noted by the Secretary of State Jena Griswold, as per the Colorado Secretary of State Newsroom. Taking the reins of civic responsibility, Griswold says, "I hope every eligible Coloradan will make their voice heard in this year’s election."
In the buildup to the November 4 election, the groundwork has been meticulously laid out. County Clerks are slated to mail these pivotal tokens of democracy by next Friday, October 17. Coloradans are nudged to keep an eye on their mailboxes and to be prompt in their action, as the unyielding clock ticks towards Election Day. For residents who hearken to the call to register or update their voter registration, GoVoteColorado.gov serves as their beacon until October 27. Post this date, the option for mail-in ballots closes, but avenues for in-person voting stand erect until the culmination of the election at 7 p.m. on Election Day.
To support the sacrosanct act of voting, Coloradans have a suite of resources at their disposal. Engaging in the electoral process with assurance requires information from trusted sources, and officials recommend signing up for BallotTrax to follow one's ballot from its journey of being mailed to its final destination, where it is counted. Any thought of mailing back ballots must be acted upon by October 27, standing as the last day suggested for mail-in returns before shifting to the use of a drop box or a voting center.
