
Passenger numbers at Colorado Springs Airport were on the rise in September 2025, according to a recent report. In the latest traffic update, 217,349 travelers utilized the airport terminal, marking an 8.7 percent increase when compared to the same month in the previous year. The airports' load factor, a metric that measures how well airlines fill their planes, went up as well, reaching 81.3 percent.
Both Delta Air Lines and United Airlines, as per Colorado Springs Airport, recorded double-digit growth in enplanements, directly corresponding with a surge in the number of available seats and their strategic investments within the Colorado Springs market. Even while Passenger Gates 1 and 3 were reported to be under construction and closed, all carriers serving the airport experienced passenger increases.
Alongside the increase in passenger traffic, Colorado Springs Airport continues to expand its service offerings. Southwest Airlines reiterated its commitment to the Pikes Peak region with announcements detailing the return of its seasonal international service to Cancun for select fall, winter, and spring dates. The airline also launched a new five-day-a-week service to San Diego, and will ramp up its service to Houston with daily flights starting March 5, 2026.
New services and adjustments were not limited to Southwest Airlines. For example, Allegiant Air and American Airlines continued to provide multiple weekly flights to various destinations, including Dallas/Fort Worth. Worth, with six daily flights promising easy connections across the U.S. and around the world. Even while the Evolve by Hudson store was closed for renovations, Mountain View Food Court and Atrevida Beer Company continued serving passengers.
