Dallas is setting the stage for a ceremonial tip of the hat to America's sea services as the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps approach their 250th birthday. In the heart of the city, officials and citizens will gather at Dallas City Hall to commemorate this significant anniversary with a blend of reverence and celebration.
Mark your calendars— the event is slated for noon next Tuesday, October 7. Mayor Eric L. Johnson, alongside City Manager Kimberly Bizor Tolbert and members of the Dallas City Council, will be at the forefront, leading the festivities. Among the traditional touches planned is a cake-cutting ceremony, a hallmark of military observances, to acknowledge the longevity and commitment of both the Navy and Marine Corps.
The proceedings will take place in the Flag Room on the 6th Floor of City Hall, located at 1500 Marilla St. For those unable to attend in person, information and updates can be found on the official bulletin hosted at the City of Dallas' website.
