In a significant ruling against organized crime in Denver, Isaiah Vigil has been sentenced to 18 years behind bars on charges related to drug trafficking and violating the Colorado Organized Crime Control Act. The Denver Police Department reports via social media that this sentencing occurred following a guilty plea by Vigil in July for one count of Possession with Intent to Distribute Narcotics and one count of violating COCCA.
Issued by Denver District Attorney John Walsh, the sentences came as a culmination of efforts by the Violent Criminal Enterprise Task Force, comprised of the Denver Police and the FBI, having seized more than five kilograms of cocaine, an armory of 13 firearms, and cash more than $120,000 in the last year, which was the proceeds from drug sales raked in by the quartet. The crackdown on Vigil and his co-conspirators has apparently purged the streets of Denver of their operation's menaces, who distributed substantial amounts of cocaine throughout the city.
"The heavy sentences imposed on these four men ensures that they will not be able to peddle dangerous drugs on the streets of Denver," stated DA Walsh, as per the Denver Police Department. Apart from Vigil, the other key players, Ivan Galindo Mancha, Alan Ugues-Mancha, and Gerardo Salazar, who took varied roles in the drug operation, have found themselves confined to prison walls for 19, 16, and 16 years, respectively.
