As Denver braces for a mix of sunny skies and fire dangers, residents in the area are urged to prepare for both pleasant days and potential hazards. According to the National Weather Service, Denver will enjoy mostly sunny weather today with a high of 77 degrees, but conditions are set to shift. This evening, the skies are expected to remain mostly clear with lows dipping around 46 degrees. For those looking to make plans for the week, sunny days are on the horizon, with temperatures ranging from the mid-60s to the high 60s.
However, Denver residents must not ignore the looming fire threats. The National Weather Service has issued a Fire Weather Watch from Monday morning through Monday afternoon for several zones, including the southern foothills and the Denver metro area. "Northwest winds 20 to 35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph" are forecasted, alongside relative humidity as low as 15 percent, which "will be favorable for rapid fire spread," the proclamation states.
The hazardous weather outlook isn't the only advisory in effect over the region. A Frost Advisory also continues until 8 AM MDT this morning for Denver and surrounding areas, including Boulder and the western suburbs of Denver. According to the National Weather Service, "Temperatures in the 32 to 36 degree range will result in frost formation," which "could harm sensitive outdoor vegetation."
