A high-speed chase in Fairfield led to multiple hit-and-runs and an impressive police capture. The suspect behind the series of traffic incidents, Aaron Cutchon, was arrested on various charges, including assault with a deadly weapon and drug-influenced driving, as reported by the Fairfield Police Department.
The pursuit began when Fairfield officers conducted a traffic stop in the 1600 block of Travis Boulevard at around 12:03 PM. Attempting to detain the driver resulted in resistance, which caused Cutchon to strike an occupied patrol car with his own vehicle and speed away, ultimately evading officers. During the frantic escape, Cutchon was involved in three hit-and-run accidents, two of which resulted in no injuries and one in injury.
After losing control of his vehicle and rolling it, Cutchon attempted to elude police further by fleeing on foot. Evading immediate capture, he sought refuge in a local Oliver Road business. Not initially associated with the chase, an observant officer spotted Cutchon and directed his fellow officers to the suspect’s location, where he was attempting to conceal himself.
The chase concluded with Cutchon’s arrest and a subsequent booking into the County Jail on charges including assault with a deadly weapon on a police officer, felony resisting arrest, felony evading, felony driving under the influence of drugs, and hit and run, along with giving false identification to authorities.
