As autumn descends upon us, Farragut Parks & Recreation is rolling out the red leaf carpet with a duo of fall events aimed at celebrating the season's spooky spirit—and your pets are invited, too. Mark your calendars for some community-driven festivities where children and canines alike can partake in the seasonal fun.
Freaky Friday Fright Nite is scheduled for the evening of October 24 from 5 to 7 pm at Mayor Bob Leonard Park (301 Watt Road). According to the Town of Farragut's announcement, this event is a longstanding tradition where kids up to 12 years old can gather sweets along the walking trail from various local businesses and Town of Farragut volunteers. The event also features games with prizes to make the evening a complete family-friendly outing.
While there is no cost to join the ghoulish gathering, attendees are encouraged to bring donations for the local Ronald McDonald House. Suggested donation items can be found on the event's website, and collection stations will be positioned conveniently by the playground near Watt Road's main parking lot and close to the Harrison Lane lot entrance. For those who prefer to give monetary support, cash donations are also welcome.
A tail-wagging time is in store on October 30 from 5:30 to 6:30 pm at McFee Park (917 McFee Road) with the Howl-O-Woof event. This celebration is especially for the canine contingents, complete with a costume contest that requires registration by October 29. Alongside the festive four-legged fashion show, vendors will be present, as well as treats and activities for all attendees, as per Farragut Parks & Recreation.
