
A fire broke out at Country Mill Crafts and Antiques in Pigeon Forge, drawing a rapid response from local firefighters. According to WVLT, the incident occurred around 6:13 p.m. yesterday, and one firefighter was injured during the effort to extinguish the flames.
Public information officer Craig Cruise confirmed the fire, noting that upon the firefighters’ arrival, they encountered visible smoke and flames coming from the building. While extinguishing the fire, which was described as "controllable" by Cruise, a firefighter sustained a minor hand injury after a ladder shifted unexpectedly. The firefighter was transported to LeConte Medical Center, as reported by WBIR.
The fire occurred while the business was closed with no civilians at risk. The Pigeon Forge Fire Department was able to limit damage to the antique shop to a moderate level. As the representative of the city noted, the firefighter is expected to fully recover from his injuries, which is a relief to the community and the department as well.
Details regarding the cause of the fire remain scarce as officials continue their investigation. A social media post shared by the City of Pigeon Forge underscored that no other injuries were reported from the incident. The Pigeon Forge Fire Department has not yet released additional information regarding the fire's origins or potential causes.
