Flagstaffans, your city's top administrative role is a duo's race to win. As City Manager Greg Clifton preps for retirement, his potential successors are preparing to meet the people they hope to serve. Next Wednesday, from 5 to 7 p.m., drop by Flagstaff City Hall, located at 211 W Aspen Ave, for a casual handshake and a chitchat with the finalists for the City Manager gig, according to the City of Flagstaff.

The search for Flagstaff’s next city manager is down to two finalists out of 59 applicants. Joanne Keene has 25 years of public service experience and currently serves as Flagstaff’s Deputy City Manager. She’s also worked in Sedona, Coconino County, and held a leadership role at NAU. She holds degrees in Public Administration and English/Broadcast Journalism from Northern Arizona University. Doug Schulze brings 36 years in government management, with experience in cities like Banning, California, and Bainbridge Island, Washington. He studied Urban and Regional Studies and Public Administration at Minnesota State University, Mankato, as reported by the City of Flagstaff.

As you shake hands and exchange pleasantries, remember it's more than just faces and first impressions. Your feedback could sway the final selection.
