The aftermath of the torrential downpour in Globe continues to echo through the community, with recovery efforts in full swing and the sheer scale of devastation increasingly evident. As per a report by FOX 10 Phoenix, cleanup operations remain underway six days after the onslaught of the storm that brought life to a staggering halt.

In the heart of this struggle, the Caldera family confronts a heart-rending reality—their home, a symbol of generational continuity since the 1950s, lies in ruins. "It hurts. It hurts bad," Eddie Caldera conveyed to FOX 10 Phoenix when asked about the current state of his abode. The family matriarch, Norma Caldera, recalled the harrowing moment when rising waters trapped her inside the house, leading to a desperate escape that left her husband with a broken rib.

The city of Globe itself is reeling under the pressure of post-monsoon challenges, with a recent declaration of a state of emergency announced by Governor Katie Hobbs. A significant deployment of efforts has been initiated, bringing in about 200 people to aid in the city's recovery thus far, according to the Globe Mayor, Al Gamero's statement to 12 News. The National Guard has also been summoned to expedite rescue and rebuilding measures.

With $200,000 released from the Governor’s Emergency Fund, the Arizona Division of Emergency Management is coordinating recovery operations. An emergency operations center has been activated, staffing more than 45 personnel from 20 agencies round-the-clock, Hobbs mentioned during a news conference in Globe. In a gesture of statewide solidarity, the governor affirmed ongoing support for the San Carlos Apache tribe through the state mutual aid compact, as detailed by 12 News. Amid these efforts, the Department of Agriculture is assessing the loss of livestock—a silent toll that often remains uncounted in the chaos of human disaster.

Meanwhile, the Globe community, bound by tragedy, stands together in the face of adversity. Neighbor helps neighbor as volunteers clear debris, their hands working pile after pile, while the Calderas, assisted by friends, family, and strangers, clean what once was their family's hearth and home.
