Green Cove Springs residents, it's time to block off some evenings on your November calendar for a series of critical city meetings. According to the latest from the City of Green Cove Springs website, the City Council is set to convene for its regular sessions on November 4 and 18 at 6:00 PM. For those interested in attending, you'll want to make your way to City Hall, the longstanding venue for these gatherings.
Apart from the City Council sessions, there will be a Citizens Advisory Committee meeting taking place on November 13 at 6:30 PM. Those who wish to have their voices heard can head to the Green Cove Springs Police Department EOC. With public input being a crucial aspect of city planning and governance, your attendance is more than just welcomed; it's encouraged.
In what seems to be a matter of particular interest, a City Council Special Session has been slated for November 17 to discuss Water Utilities Capacity Connection Fees, again gathering locals in the halls of City Hall at 6:00 PM. This is a chance for community members to learn about, and potentially influence, fiscal decisions related to their water utilities.
The next day, on November 19, the city has scheduled back-to-back sessions with Code Enforcement kicking off at 10:00 AM, followed by Red Light Camera Hearings at 1:00 PM, each at the well-trodden City Hall. For those caught in the gaze of a camera at the wrong moment, these hearings could prove consequential.
Later in November, specifically on the 20th at 10:00 AM, there will be a Community Redevelopment Agency Meeting. Like other meetings this month, officials will gather at City Hall for what promises to be a discussion on development initiatives that could shape the economic future of Green Cove Springs.
The Planning and Zoning meeting, however, stands as the only absentee in this packed lineup, having been cancelled due to the Thanksgiving holiday. Worry not, planners and developers, as it will resume on December 16, 2025, at 5:00 PM.
