Interstate 4 eastbound, near exit 104, has reopened following a nearly two-hour shutdown this morning for an ongoing investigation into a deadly hit-and-run accident on Oct. 4 that claimed the lives of three individuals. According to WFTV, the tragic event involved a Dodge Durango hitting multiple vehicles, resulting in the death of Jorge Salinas, 59, his wife Nancy Salinas, 60, and a 54-year-old motorcyclist from Deltona, Joaquin Deno.
The suspect's vehicle was found abandoned at an apartment complex in Flagler County not long after the crash, and law enforcement has been working to locate the driver since. The Florida Highway Patrol is leading the investigation, and no arrests have been made as of today. As the search for the driver continues, authorities conducted operations along I-4 east from east Seminole County into Volusia, disrupting traffic near Lake Mary Boulevard, the eastbound ramp on Interstate 95, and South Dirksen Drive, according to WESH.
