State police in Indiana County are on the hunt for Steven R. Marsh, a 37-year-old McIntyre man, facing multiple charges, including arson, terroristic threats, and harassment. According to WPXI, Troopers were dispatched to a residence on Third Street in Ernest Borough after receiving a 911 hang-up call at about 2:57 a.m.
The investigation revealed that Marsh allegedly broke into a woman's home by kicking in the basement door, engaging in an act of arson by setting her couch on fire with the victim present inside. He reportedly managed to extinguish the fire prior to fleeing, leaving the woman in a state of distress. Wanted for his connection to the crime, Marsh was last seen described as approximately 5 feet, 11 inches in height, and weighing about 160 lbs, with brown hair and brown eyes, as reported by WTAE.
Not only did the suspect physically disrupt the sanctuary of a home, but he is also accused of adding to his litany of intimidation by sending threatening text messages to the same victim. This escalation of harassment adds a poignant layer to an already traumatic encounter. Law enforcement's efforts to locate Marsh have thus far been met with resistance, as the perpetrator of the Friday morning incident remains large.
Authorities urge anyone holding details on Marsh's whereabouts to come forward. In earnest, the law enforcement pleaded with the public for any information leading to the resolution of this case, which disturbed the early morning calm with a fiery onslaught in a humble home on Third Street. Those with knowledge are encouraged to contact Troop A, Indiana, at 724-357-1960.
