In a statement observed on the Irving Police Department's social media post, a collaboration between the Irving Family Advocacy Center, the Irving Independent School District, and the Irving Archives and Museum has culminated in an art exhibit with a unique focus: empowering those touched by domestic violence.
The exhibit, featuring the work of Irving ISD high school students, communicates potent messages of hope and healing through its displayed pieces. Conveying their perspectives on a plight affecting diverse gender, racial, cultural, and community backgrounds, these students have given voice and shape to the multifaceted struggle against domestic violence. With forms of abuse spanning from physical to psychological, the importance of awareness and support is underscored in the students' artwork, revealing an intimate understanding of the complexities involved in such personal battles.
