A 24-year-old Jackson Township man faces a slate of charges, including criminal homicide, after a fatal shooting incident that left a 55-year-old man dead in Cambria County this past Saturday. According to WTAE, Dylan Don Lang was arraigned last Saturday, following the events that transpired in the early hours of the morning inside a residence on the 100 block of Heritage Lane.
Pennsylvania State Police, dispatched to the scene just before 4 a.m., found the victim, Robert Edward Hagen Jr., inside his pickup truck with a fatal gunshot wound to his upper torso. Lang is suspected to have, after exiting his residence, forcefully smashed the truck's back window and shot Hagen in the presence of a woman, said to be known by both men. In a statement obtained by CBS News, authorities mentioned Lang called 911 himself and remained at the scene until he was taken into custody without further incident.
A 9 mm handgun, believed to be the weapon used in the shooting, was recovered from inside Lang's home. Alongside this, two 9 mm shell casings were also found in the driveway. Further investigation prompted officials to charge Lang with one count of criminal homicide.
Additional charges against Lang include one count of aggravated assault, graded as a felony of the second degree, and one count of recklessly endangering another person, graded as a misdemeanor of the second degree. Lang was lodged in Cambria County Prison, unable to secure bail pending further proceedings. His preliminary hearing, as of now, is scheduled to be held on October 27 at 9:00 a.m.
