The City of Jacksonville, Florida, announced significant progress in expanding affordable housing across the community. According to a Facebook post by Mayor Donna Deegan shared by the City of Jacksonville, more than 6,000 affordable homes have been built or are currently in development since the mayor took office. The update highlighted the rapid completion of five new single-family homes in Durkeeville, finished just 98 days after construction began.
The post also acknowledged the efforts of the Jacksonville Housing Authority (JHA), noting a growing partnership between JHA and the city. Officials expressed optimism about future joint projects focused on addressing housing needs and providing more affordable options for residents.
