The City of Jacksonville has started an Entrepreneurship Program for individuals with disabilities, created in partnership with the Disabled Services Division, the Mayor’s Disability Council, the Jacksonville Small and Emerging Business Program, and Florida State College at Jacksonville. Eight participants recently completed the program and received Entrepreneurship Certificates of Completion, as reported by the City of Jacksonville.

"Entrepreneurship is an inclusive social science, and this program ensures that individuals with disabilities are empowered to be entrepreneurial leaders within the community," said Gregory Grant, the EBO/JSEB Administrator. The program provides training and support for people with disabilities to develop business skills, as stated by the City of Jacksonville.

According to the City of Jacksonville on their Facebook page, Jacksonville’s Entrepreneurship Program offers a curriculum covering business planning, financial literacy, branding and marketing, and government procurement and certification. Participants have access to one-on-one coaching, peer networking, and small-business financing. The program is supported by the Mayor’s Disability Council and Florida State College at Jacksonville. Kara Tucker, Chief of Disabled Services, said, "The Entrepreneurship Program is about igniting potential and breaking down barriers," emphasizing inclusion and opportunities for people with disabilities in business.
